Minutes of December 29, 2008

Selectmen present: Rick Hotchkiss, Cheryl Labadie, Bob Thayer

City Officials present: Al Henry and Randy Smith

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm

Payroll and bills were accepted

A purchase order for Fire Safety USA was approved. (Fire Dept)

Rick Hotchkiss made a motion to accept and approve the new 2009 Town holiday vacation schedule, Cheryl seconds the motion and it was unanimously passed. There will be two floating holidays in addition to, January 1, May 25, July 3, September 7, November 26 and 27, December 25.The floating holidays will be at the discretion of the employee.

The Primex Multi year Agreement for Workers Compensation was signed. This will offer a 5% discount on premiums; a savings of $240.00 for 2009.

A letter to the editor was read, this was submitted by Ann and Roger Sweet in reference to the help they received from the Town.

The budget committee will meet on January 8 at 7:00 to discuss the Selectmen’s budget.

Al Henry presented the new warrant articles for review.

Randy Smith was inquiring as to whether a State of emergency was declared. He was wondering if any funds would be available to help the Town with clean up costs. The selectmen are checking into this but believe that some money will be available.

The meeting minutes from 12/22/2008 were approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
