Crystal Rokes was inquiring with the selectmen as to the process of acquiring a building permit. She would like to build a 3BDR apartment on the top of her barn; she is living on a one acre lot. Rick Hotchkiss informed her that one acre is not sufficient for two dwellings and a building permit will not be allowed at this time. She believes that this apt. was pre-approved at the time that the barn was built; the selectmen are looking into this and will speak with her again at a later date.
Matt and Sarah Burke came to turn in some of the required paper work for their building permit. They had previously applied and were tentatively approved with stipulations. They still need a septic design or a letter of inspection, from a professional, on file. They have already paid the required $25.00.
Gladys Cote requested an executive session, everyone except the selectmen were asked to leave the room. Everyone was invited back in after executive session ended.
Congratulations to Randy Smith for becoming a road scholar. He has worked hard and has passed level three of this training. We are very proud of him.
Karl Wheeler came to discuss the possibility of keeping the current cruiser for another year; it needs minor repairs but has low mileage. He cannot find a satisfactory replacement (new) at this time. They decided to keep the cruiser one more year. Karl told selectmen that there are still 25-30 unregistered dogs in town; he will be working on this problem.
The meeting minutes from 7/07/2008 were reviewed and approved.
