Minutes of July 21, 2008

Selectmen present: Rick Hotchkiss, Cheryl Labadie 

Town Officials present: Al Henry and Steve Hamilton 

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM 

Town bills were reviewed and approved. 

A purchase order was approved for Firematic Corp; this was for the replacement of gas meter sensors. 

It was discussed that a deliberative session is scheduled for Sat. Aug. 9 at 10am at MRHS; this is regarding the upcoming vote on the proposed revised teachers’ contract. 

Correspondence from Tim Murphy of SW Region Planning Commission was reviewed. He would like to meet with Selectmen in order to explain the Brownfield’s program and the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy program. He is to be invited to the July 28th meeting. 

Christine Therrien from Citizens Bank is invited to the July 28th Selectman meeting to discuss the financial options that they offer. 

The Selectmen were given copies of the letter sent to the Town of Nelson regarding the Riesenberg invalid Nelson subdivision, copies of Beth Fernald's letter to the Riesenberg's, a letter from Beth regarding a conversation she had with Jerome Riesenberg. They also received a copy of the motion for partial Summary judgment regarding Town vs. Paquette's. 

Steve Hamilton attended the meeting to check on the progress of Selectman in pursuing certain citizens that have not followed Town planning board regulations i.e. Alexander Trucking, Kinson gravel pit, Ed Csenge site plan and Paquettes logging, The Selectman assure Steve and the planning board that all of these situations are being handled in the best possible way they can. The responsibility of the Selectmen is that the interest of all be considered. 

The meeting minutes from 7/14/2008 were reviewed and approved.
