Minutes of July 28, 2008
Selectmen present: Cheryl Labadie, Rick Hotchkiss and Bob Thayer
Town Officials present: Karl Wheeler, Randy Smith and Al Henry
Citizens present: Crystal Rokes
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM
Payroll and bills were reviewed and approved
Crystal Rokes was informed by Ray Maclean to leave her paperwork for zoning variance with selectmen. She is interested in building an apartment over her garage but she only has one acre of land, therefore she needs a variance.
Al Henry told the selectmen that Sullivan Fire Dept. was on call, stationed in Hillsborough, to wait being called to Epsom for Tornado relief. The Town ended up with enough help and Sullivan did not end up going. Al also asked if the Fire station credit card limit could be raised, it currently has a $350.00 limit. The $350.00 may not be sufficient in cases of traveling emergencies such as the Epsom tornado. The selectmen approved a credit limit of $1000.00. Al Henry asked approval on a purchase order for Staples in the amount of $799.98. This is for Emergency management.
Randy Smith presented paving proposals for repaving-Woodbury Hill-The beginning of Gilsum Rd (by Mark Paquette’s)and Cannon’s hill by Boynton Rd. Pike and FWW gave proposals and Randy recommended Pike, The selectmen agreed and approved these paving jobs to be done by Pike starting the week of August 11. Randy asked the selectmen to view the NHDOT map concerning block grants for 2010/2011. Randy found several mistakes on the map and wanted to share these with selectmen before making changes. NHDOT bridge inspection report was reviewed (Price Rd Bridge)
Karl Wheeler attended to inform the selectmen that Leslie Jackson is graduating Police academy on Friday. He will have more intense training with Karl at this point. In the near future he will take a radar class.
The Town septage agreement has expired; this is with the city of Keene. NHDES requires selectmen signatures.
Selectmen signed The NHDOT Fuel Distribution Agreement; this is for Police Dept’s gas.
The selectmen reviewed correspondence from Ed Csenge regarding the inquiry into his compliance of a site plan review.
The Monadnock Taxpayers assoc. filed a motion for reconsideration. Beth Fernald sent correspondence in regards to this.
The meeting minutes from 7/14/2008 were approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00PM.
