Minutes of November 24, 2008

Selectmen present: Rick Hotchkiss, Bob Thayer 

City Officials present: Al Henry 

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm 

Town bills were reviewed and accepted. 

Payroll and bills were accepted 

A purchase order for B-B Chain (highway dept.) was approved. 

Al Henry talked about putting manual transfer switches in for generators. This would happen in the future and is part of the Town emergency Plan. This will be put on hold for in lieu of the tax increase this year. 

Al Henry presented a purchase order for replacing SCBA bottles. Scott Lake will offer the tanks at a savings of $1600.00. 

A thank you note was received from Denise MacFarland (from the library) sending kudos to the Selectmen for helping provide for the Town Halloween party, it was a success. 

The Selectmen decided that $2500.00 of the $7500.00 appropriated for the legal fees will be set aside for this reason. The leftover $5000.00 will be put in the general fund. 

Fawn left copies of the Fy 2009 and 2008 School Apportionment Calculations for anyone interested. The local tax assessment went up $242,606.00 this year.
