Minutes of October 13, 2008

Selectmen present: Rick Hotchkiss, Cheryl Labadie

City Officials present: Al Henry, Randy Smith and Karl Wheeler

Payroll/ Bills were reviewed and approved.

Al Henry submitted a purchase order for two batteries for the Town Tanker truck for $400.00, this was approved and signed. The Sullivan fire dept. has received two parade trophies, two from Keene and one from Claremont. Congratulations to the Fire Dept.

Karl Wheeler attended the meeting to report some police matters

It was reported a 357 magnum handgun was missing from Lyle Handy's house on South Rd. Donna Handy then assured Karl that they have the gun and it is in a safe place.

An attempted breaking at the Sullivan store was thwarted possibly by the security alarm, there was some damage done to the store.

A breaking and entering at the Balls residence on Valley road resulted in a number of missing handguns, jewelry and old coins. This is under investigation.

Karl also asked advice about where he might get the new cruiser equipped. He is finding it difficult to find someone that can do all the pieces of the job. Cheryl Labadie suggested looking into Audio Accessories.

Fawn has spoken with Ray MacLean regarding the Paquette's. Fawn suggested the attendance of the ZBA members at a meeting of the Board in order to go on record as to whether they will rehear the Paquette’s case. She suggested they attend the 10/20 meeting.

John Fitzpatrick decided not to do the work of replacing the library door. He is of the opinion that the door should be the same as the one being replaced; this is to protect the historical integrity of the building. This said door is much more expensive. The need for a new door remains. The selectmen have decided to ask Tim Aho if he is interested in replacing the door. The meeting minutes from 10/6 were reviewed and approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Rhonda Hull
