Sullivan Congregational Church
First, let me say hello to you all. My name is Christopher Cornell, and this February the United Congregational Church called me to be their new pastor. These past few weeks I have been trying to familiarize myself with the town of Sullivan and I look forward to getting to know this community better. If you see me around town, please don’t hesitate to say hello.
On behalf of the church, I would also like to thank the many people who attended our recent Silent Auction&Dessert Buffet. It was a great success, and wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of this community.
In the church we are looking forward to the season of Lent, which begins this year on the first of March (Ash Wednesday). We will celebrate Palm Sunday at our 9:30 am service on April 9th and we will hold a service of tenebrae the evening of Maundy Thursday (April 13) at 6 pm. Easter morning (April 16) we will hold a Sunrise Service at 6:30 am at Seward Mountain Farm followed by coffee in “the cottage” and/or an Easter Breakfast at the church, and our Easter Festival Worship at 9:30am.
I hope you can join us for any of these special events, or any Sunday at our weekly worship service which begins at 9:30am and is followed by a time of fellowship at 10:15.

Help for those in need includes but is not limited to:
Local Food Pantry - The church continues with their monthly food pantry deliveries in town. The donations we have received from Sullivan residents are a wonderful help to our community. Thank you to all! If you would like to contribute, your non-perishable food items can be left at the Sullivan Library, Town Hall or given to any church member. If you or someone you know is in need, contact Dott Miles (847-9336) or Gaynelle Pratt (847-3271).
World Service Kits - The church also prepares 3 different types of Church World Service Kits annually – baby, health and school. These are sent to disaster victims, refugees, the impoverished, etc. The kits are small packages of supplies assembled by volunteers and shipped to people in need around the world and in the US.
